Local support

An old name, a familiar face

Rooty Hill was once the centre of government administration for the area, and it has carried its name since 1810. Nobody is quite sure where the name came from. Blacktown’s local history notes offer a few ideas: the tree roots cleared for an early road, the Hindi word for food, “ruti”, or Rooty Hill Road on Norfolk Island.

The suburb has its own station on the T1 line. We support participants here with daily living, community participation, life skills and high intensity care. Same worker, same face, every visit.

Our founder, Shazia Begum, has worked alongside people living with disability for more than 15 years. That experience sits behind every match we make between a participant and a support worker.

Getting started

Four steps. No long forms.

Step 1

Call or send an enquiry

A short conversation. We want to understand what you actually need.

Step 2

We listen

Your situation, your goals, what matters most. You explain it once, not to five different people.

Step 3

We match

The right support worker, not whoever is free. Someone who suits your needs and the way you communicate.

Step 4

Support starts

First visit with the person we discussed. We check in and adjust as you go.

FAQ

Questions Rooty Hill families ask us

Do you provide NDIS support in Rooty Hill?

Yes. Rooty Hill is in Blacktown City, the same council area as our Colebee office, and we support NDIS participants across the suburb.

Do I need an NDIS plan before I call?

No. Call us even if you’re still waiting on a plan or aren’t sure what it covers, and we’ll talk through what’s possible. We support agency-managed, plan-managed and self-managed participants.

Will I get the same support worker each visit?

Yes. Once we’ve matched you with a support worker, the same person keeps coming. You don’t have to explain your routine to someone new every week, and we keep you and your family updated as things change.

What happens if my regular support worker is sick?

We organise cover and let you know as early as we can, so a visit isn’t simply cancelled without warning.

Do you provide Supported Independent Living near Rooty Hill?

We’re registered to deliver Supported Independent Living (SIL). Availability changes, so we don’t list it online. Call us to talk about current availability and whether SIL suits your needs.
