Your therapy goals, practised at home
Your occupational therapist, speech pathologist or physiotherapist sets the goals. The practice happens in the rest of the fortnight: in the morning routine, at the shops, in the kitchen. That’s where our support workers come in.
- Registered NDIS provider (4-GWVHCEY)
- Same support worker every visit
- Following your own therapists’ written programs
Follow-through between appointments
Kinship doesn’t provide therapy or clinical assessment. Our support workers help you practise the programs and strategies your own allied health team gives you, with your consent.
Practising communication goals
Using the strategies your speech pathologist recommends in everyday conversations and routines.
Following your OT’s program
Working through your occupational therapist’s home program together, between appointments.
Keeping up your exercises
The exercises your physiotherapist prescribed, with someone there to keep you company and on track.
Building strategies into the day
Equipment and routines your therapy team recommends, used where they matter: at home and out in the community.
General information only, not medical advice. If an exercise or strategy causes pain or doesn’t feel right, stop and talk to your therapist or GP.
For people with therapy goals in their plan
A fortnightly appointment is a small part of a fortnight. Practice is what carries a goal through the rest of it.
You have a program to follow
And you’d rather not do it alone. The same worker each visit learns how you like to work.
You can’t be there for every session
We keep you updated on how practice is going, as standard.
You want the program followed
With the participant’s consent, we follow your written program and tell you what we’re seeing.
For referrers →Four steps. No long forms.
Call or send an enquiry
A 15-minute conversation about your goals and who’s on your therapy team.
We listen
Your goals, your routine, what matters most. You explain it once.
We match
A support worker who suits you. With your consent, they read your therapists’ written programs before starting.
Practice starts
The same person each visit, working through the program at your pace.
At home, near you
Based in Colebee and working across Sydney, strongest in the North West. If you’re further out, ask anyway. We’ll tell you on the first call whether we can staff it.
Questions about therapy support
Does Kinship provide therapy?
No. Kinship doesn’t provide therapy or clinical assessment. Your own allied health professionals set your goals and programs. Our support workers help you practise them in everyday life.
Which part of my plan pays for this?
It depends on your plan. Support worker time isn’t the same as therapy funding, so we’ll check with you and your plan manager or support coordinator before anything starts.
Will my support worker follow my therapist’s program exactly?
Yes, as written. If something doesn’t feel right or causes pain, your support worker will stop and we’ll ask you to check with your therapist or GP before carrying on.
Can my support worker talk to my therapist?
Only with your consent. If you agree, we can share how practice is going so your therapist has a clearer picture at your next appointment.
Are therapy-related budgets changing?
The NDIA says Improved Daily Living Skills budgets will be reduced as plans are created or reassessed from 1 October 2026, or renewed from 1 February 2027. The impact is different for everyone, so ask your support coordinator or the NDIA how your plan is affected.
How do I get started?
Call 0437 733 744 or send an enquiry. We’ll have a short conversation about your goals and therapy team, then match you with the right support worker.
