Our approach

We support people, not diagnoses

A diagnosis tells you something. It doesn’t tell you what a Tuesday looks like, who’s at the table, or what the person wants from the week. That’s where we start.

The NDIS takes a similar view. It says it doesn’t matter what caused an impairment; what counts is the evidence about how it affects everyday life.

These pages are here so you don’t have to piece it together from ten different websites. Each one draws on named Australian organisations, links to its sources and ends with the people to call.

General information only, not medical advice. Talk to your GP or health team about your own situation.

Continence support

Continence products and advice

Bladder and bowel changes come up with many of the conditions on this page. For independent advice, the National Continence Helpline (1800 33 00 66) is free and staffed by nurse continence specialists.

Equipit sells continence products such as adult nappies and continence briefs. Equipit is the product-supply arm of Kinship Uniting Services, an NDIS registered and CHSP approved provider since 2017.

Disclosure: Equipit is part of the same family of businesses as Kinship, and Equipit itself is not NDIS registered. You’re free to buy from any supplier. Agency-managed NDIS funds can’t be spent with Equipit; if you’re self-managed or plan-managed, check with your plan manager first.

Carers

Looking after the people who care

Family carers carry a lot. Carer Gateway (1800 422 737) offers free services for carers, and our guide has practical ideas for the week ahead.

FAQ

Questions families ask us

Do I need a diagnosis before you can help?

No. Call us and tell us what’s going on. For NDIS funding, the NDIS looks at evidence about the impairment and how it affects daily life, and says it doesn’t matter what caused the impairment.

My condition isn’t listed. Can you still help?

These pages cover twelve conditions, and they’re not the only ones we support. Call 0437 733 744 and we’ll tell you plainly whether we can help.

Are the guides free?

Yes. Every condition page has a free PDF guide you can download, print and share. No sign-up needed.

Do you support older people?

Our CHSP-funded aged care is domestic assistance only, in Northern Sydney and the Southern Highlands. We’re applying to deliver Support at Home but can’t take clients under it yet. Anyone can book our private services.

Which areas do you cover?

NDIS support across Sydney suburbs and Australia-wide, from our base in Colebee in Western Sydney. CHSP aged care covers Northern Sydney and the Southern Highlands only.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Yes. Our registration number is 4-GWVHCEY. You can check any provider on the NDIS Commission’s Provider Register.

Is the information on these pages medical advice?

No. It’s general information only, drawn from named Australian organisations. Talk to your GP or health team about your own situation.
